14th May 2018: Club notes

Fixtures & results

Congratulations to our team who continued their great start to the season with three wins out of three at yesterday’s league blitz.┬áThe team will now compete in the league semi-finals next Sunday (20th May) when they will take on Croydon for a place in the final, which will be played on the same day.

Thank you to all our supporters who came out to cheer on the team and to Tir Chonaill Gaels for their excellent hospitality.

Club meeting

The club meeting scheduled for this coming Wednesday will now take place on Wednesday 23rd May at 8.30pm (after training) in Tir Chonaill Gaels, Greenford.

Fixtures

The Junior League continues this coming Sunday (13th May) with the second blitz in Greenford. We will be hoping to build on our excellent performance from two weeks ago and qualify for the semi-finals in style, but we know that we will face strong competition from the other clubs taking part. Matches get underway at 10.00am and all support would be greatly appreciated.

Results

We got off to a great start in the Junior League yesterday, taking maximum points from the first league blitz at Holly Lane. Well done to all our players and thanks to Seamus and Mary for making the journey up to Birmingham to mentor us. Here’s hoping we can keep it up in the next round of the league on Sunday 13th May.

Club reunion

Last weekend, current and former club members gathered in Dublin for a reunion. By all accounts, a great time was enjoyed by all and we look forward to meeting up with everyone again in the not-too-distant future.

Fixtures

This Sunday sees the team travel to Birmingham for the first round of the Junior League. The blitz gets underway at 10.30am, with our first match at 11.30am against Croydon. The full schedule can be viewed on the Fixtures and Results page.

Unfortunately, due to the condition of the pitches in Greenford last weekend, the Junior section of the Tara 7s competition was postponed.

Training

Mid-week training will switch to Wednesdays at 7.15pm from this week. Please note that there will be no training on Saturday as we will be taking part in the Tara 7s Competition (see below).

Tara 7s Competition

The club will be participating in the annual Tara 7s in Greenford this coming Saturday (7th April). This is always a great day out and we look forward taking part in our first competitive fixtures of the year. Matches get underway at 11am and continue throughout the day; all support gratefully received!

Training

We hope that everyone had an enjoyable St Patrick’s Day weekend, despite the best efforts of the weather to spoil things! We are now fast-approaching the start of the playing season, so it is time to dust off the boots and hurleys and get back on the pitch!

Training

Training takes place this Saturday (24th March) at 12 noon in Tir Chonaill Gaels, Greenford. As the clocks are going forward this Sunday, we will also be resuming our mid-week sessions on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm from next week (27th March) onwards.
